There’s always more to do.
Emails to answer. Deadlines to meet. Kids home for summer. Errands. Meals. Messes.
Last week, there was so much to do, I didn’t send this newsletter.
If you were hanging on, waiting for it, I’m sorry.
Over the years, I’ve learned that there’s one thing that’s always more important than the to-do list...
I’ve learned that if I don’t carve out a few moments to reconnect to myself, I show up scattered. Short-tempered. Reactive. And that’s not good for anyone.
So I walk.
Not for the steps. Not for the cardio.
But for the clarity.
The calm.
The soul alignment.
Because when I walk in peace, I return in power.
And if that speaks to you, then I invite you to put this into practice this week...
THIS ENDS NOW
Identify one habit, belief, or behavior that’s no longer serving you—and let it go.
The belief that you can’t rest until it’s all done.
Seriously—when is it ever all done?
This old story is rooted in guilt, pressure, and the illusion that productivity = worth.
And it keeps you locked in a reactive loop—chasing, striving, burned out but still going.
Here’s the truth:
The most powerful leaders I know don’t wait until everything is finished to take a break.
They pause first—so they can lead from a place of presence, not panic.
And for me, that pause begins with a walk.
Not to escape the day, but to prepare for it.
THIS MOMENT MATTERS
One simple, actionable step to take to create a ripple effect of change in your life
You don’t need a sabbatical.
You need five minutes of soul-alignment.
Maybe walking’s not your rhythm. That’s fine.
- Maybe it’s:
- Sipping coffee without your phone.
- Writing one honest sentence in your journal.
- Locking the door and taking ten deep breaths.
Whatever it is—claim it.
Not for self-care.
For self-leadership.
You don’t serve others well when you’re running on empty.
You don’t lead well when you’re leaking energy.
Let this be the end of hustle-as-default…
And the beginning of intentional presence.
You don’t need to do more.
You need to be more you.
That’s how you lead in the new era.
Walk in peace. Return in power. And lead from there.
Up we go—
