Hey Reader,
This email was inspired by an audience I spoke to last week, but it’s for YOU...
I was back in Nashville for the first time since I moved away, and I had the honor of speaking to a room full of hardworking, humble, often unseen heroes from TBHC Delivers—the team responsible for getting Hunt Brothers Pizza into more than 4,000 convenience stores across 15 states.
If you’ve ever stopped at a gas station on a back road and been excited to see that glowing Hunt Brothers sign in the window…
You’ve felt what my son feels.
Every time we pass one on a road trip, Brody lights up:
“Can we get pizza?!”
Every single time.
That sign? It’s not just pizza to him.
It’s joy.
It’s comfort.
It’s something familiar in the middle of nowhere.
And I told that room full of TBHC team members:
You’ve been a part of our life.
You are a part of our life.
Whether you know it or not.
I wanted them to know that when the days get long—when you’re 12 hours in, wondering if anyone even notices what you do:
It’s not just pizza.
It’s moments.
It’s memories.
It’s the thing that makes a kid light up in the backseat.
It’s the only hot meal a family might get that day.
An account manager named Jeremy told me a story after the keynote—about delivering to a convenience store in a rough part of a major city in his region.
Bulletproof glass.
Owner had three guns behind the counter.
He asked himself, “Why am I doing this?”
Then a little boy walked in with an EBT card to buy pizza.
That store might’ve been the only place that child could reach on foot.
And that meal? Might’ve been the only warm one that day.
Suddenly… he knew.
That’s why.
Now, maybe you’re not delivering pizzas.
But I guarantee: There is someone who is better off today because of you.
You may never see them.
They may never say thank you.
But what you do matters.
That email you answered.
That policy you created.
That code you wrote.
That smile you offered.
It’s not just a job.
It’s impact.
It’s connection.
It’s a moment in someone’s story—whether you know it or not.
THIS ENDS NOW
Identify one habit, belief, or behavior that’s no longer serving you—and let it go.
This ends the lie that your work doesn’t matter.
This ends the habit of rushing through your to-do list like it’s just a stack of tasks.
This ends the story that what you do is small.
Whatever your job title is…
That’s not the business you’re really in.
You’re in the business of impact.
Of joy.
Of comfort.
Of presence.
That might show up as pizza.
Or code.
Or policies.
Or teaching.
Or checking people in.
Or cleaning rooms.
But it’s not just that.
THIS MOMENT MATTERS
One simple, actionable step to take to create a ripple effect of change in your life.
What business are you really in?
Take one moment this week—maybe even today—and ask yourself:
“What’s the deeper value behind what I do?”
Not the metrics. Not the titles.
But the human outcome.
The ripple.
And if you can connect with that—even for one moment—it might just refill your tank.
Because when you’re clear on the why, you can handle just about any how.
In case no one else tells you today, hear this:
Your work matters.
You matter.
And the world wouldn’t be the same without you.
Thank you for what you do.
Thank you for being you.
Keep going.
I’m cheering you on.
Up we go—
