What I want for you ➔ the key to thriving in the world of tomorrow

Published 2 months ago • 2 min read

Hey Reader,

In a world where change is the only constant, have you ever stopped to think about how fast this change is unfolding?

Of course not. No time for that!

But consider this: Today, change is happening at the slowest pace it will ever be in our lifetime.

Crazy, right? It's only accelerating from here.

Information is doubling so fast that by the time you finish reading this email, thousands of new ideas will have been born.

Some say that 80% of jobs we know today might be replaced by AI in the future.

It sounds like a sci-fi movie, but it's our reality.

That might be scary at first, but here's what often trips us up: We think we need to predict the future to succeed. We don't.

I mean, did you see ChatGPT coming before 2022-2023? I sure didn't.

Did you imagine one day being able to order groceries online and then pick them up curbside? Me neither.

Yet, here we are. Doing all the things.

So, what's the big secret to success in this ever-changing world? One word: ADAPTABILITY.

That's right. It's not learning how to code or write prompts for ChatGPT.

I mean, those might be skills you need to develop. But those skills won't guarantee your success.

They're helpful for today. But tomorrow? Next year? Who knows.

But, the skill of adaptability? It will take you wherever you want or need to go.

Without it?

Just look at the bookstores that didn't believe people would really shop from a website called Amazon. Look at Blockbuster laughing off Netflix.

They had everything except the willingness to adapt. To flex and find a way forward in the new world.

So, what about you?

Here's what I believe: You're more resilient and adaptable than you've ever imagined. You have the incredible ability to meet change head-on. To not just "get by" or "get through," but truly thrive.

And here's what I want for you: To embrace your adaptability, to see change as an opportunity for growth, and to boldly step into the future, knowing you have what it takes to thrive.

It's true, the world will never stop moving forward. Faster and faster. But you, my friend, are more than capable of moving with it.

Beyond cheering you on, I'm here to help.

Up we go—

Hello Reader, Nice to see you here in the ole inbox again. Thanks for checking in. I've got two mantras that I hope will inspire you today—one classic and one soon to be. Here's the classic: Don't give up. You've probably heard that a million times, but it's fresh on my mind because I just announced that I'm kicking off the Toastmasters International 100th Annual Convention this summer in Anaheim, CA! As I celebrate 25 years in the speaking business (this month!), it's a huge honor to join...

Hello, my friend, I hope this message finds you well as you juggle the inevitably busy moments in your life. Today, I want to share a thought that really hit home for me recently: "You won't find peace by chasing it. You'll find it when you create it." In other words, it's not something to pursue, but to practice. Moment by moment. Breath by breath. Choice by choice. In the past few weeks, my life has been jam-packed with events, deadlines, and to-dos. I'm betting you can relate. (I don't...

Hello, my friend, I'd like to share something about what I've been feeling lately, not because what I'm feeling should matter so much to you, but because I hope that in sharing what I'm feeling, perhaps I can bear witness to what you've felt yourself—whether recently or presently. I speak about navigating change and adapting and thriving in the midst of ever-changing circumstances, but I have a confession to make... I don't like change. I don't always do well with change. Change is hard for...
