Stop Lying to Yourself
December 3, 2024
Hello Reader,
December is here... freezing cold weather and all (at least here in Ohio).
As the reality of another year winding down sets in, it’s that time when many of us start reflecting on the past and thinking about what we want for the future. Goals. Resolutions. Fresh starts. But as I’ve learned the hard way, real change starts with one thing: honesty.
Perhaps it’s no surprise, then, that one of the most-searched phrases bringing people to my website lately has been: “Stop lying to yourself.”
The journey to authenticity, alignment, and living your truth is something we’re all striving for—and something that’s at the heart of Mastering the Moments. In every moment, we have a choice: Are we stepping into alignment or stepping out of it?
Almost three years ago, I wrote these words in my journal: “Stop lying to yourself.” They hit hard then, and they still hit hard today.
I wrote about it on my blog at the beginning of this year and I’m sharing again today to encourage you as you prepare for the year ahead. Here’s an excerpt:
“How many times have we told ourselves, ‘I’m okay’ or ‘It’s kinda tough’ instead of facing the real deal? We think these little fibs are harmless, but really, they’re anchors keeping us stuck. I’ve learned this the hard way—and unfortunately, more than once. The truth will set you free. It’s real. And it’s about getting real with every part of your life—even when it’s uncomfortable.”
